Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte

President Duterte has approved on Oct. 14, 2021, the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to place Bohol under general community quarantine (GCQ) “with heightened restrictions” from Oct. 16 to 31 as the threat of the Delta variant exists in the province.

The IATF released its quarantine classification recommendations for the rest of October 2021, on Wednesday.

The IATF also recommended the same quarantine restriction for Lapu-Lapu City and Negros Oriental, the report adds.

The government first placed the province under GCQ with heightened restrictions back in Sept. 23, 2021, after Bohol saw a surge of the Coronavirus disease (Covid) cases.

Currently, the cases are down from a high of more then 2,000 active cases to only 753 as of 9 am of Oct. 14, 2021.

Bohol has a total of 19,187 cases of Covid as of Oct. 14, 2021, with 516 persons died due to the disease.

Meanwhile, Cebu City, Cebu province, Mandaue City and Siquijor province will be under general community quarantine (GCQ) from Oct. 16 to 31, 2021.
