President Duterte will meet on Dec. 4, 2021, with key government officials including provincial governors where he is expected to reveal his plans about which presidential bet to support in next year’s polls, according to Gov. Arthur Yap.
As this developed, Gov. Yap will fly on Saturday to listen what the president has to say about his bet for president following the withdrawal of his trusted aide, Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go from the race for the presidency.
Sen. Go, the erstwhile standard bearer of the Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), withdrew his candidacy for president the other day.
Yap said that with Go’s withdrawal, the ruling Partido Demokrartiko ng Pilpinas-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party has no candidate for president in next year’s polls.
Considering the situation, Yap will first listen to what Duterte has to say and then consult his peers at the Pundok Padayon Bol-anon before revealing his, and the coalition’s bet for president and vice president in the 2022 national and local elections.
Moreover, the governor said that he is open to endorse any of the leading candidates for president.
He said during an interview over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa on Dec. 1, 2021, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado, that several presidential bets reached out to him for endorsement.
Yap said that Manila mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Vice President Leni Robredo and former Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reached out to him asking to become the chosen bet of Pundok Padayon Bol-anon.
