Two hospitals in the province are getting new medical equipment after Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos and the rest of Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved a resolution during the last regular session on March 15, 2022, reports say.
The provincial board, presided over by Relampagos, passed a resolution to grant Gov. Arthur Yap the authority to sign the deed of donation with the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) regarding the two new pieces of medical equipment.
The donation from DOH-CVCHD is valued at P 8 million, and is intended for the procurement for a piece of medical equipment each for the Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital (GMPH) in Talibon and the Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital (TGDH) in Jagna.
Reports add that present during the pre-session meeting of the SP was Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, the OIC of the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
Lopez told the august body that GMPH will be getting a digital X-ray system, while the TDGH will receive from the DOH-CVCHD a portable X-ray machine and analog film processor.
Meanwhile, Relampagos expressed his thanks to PHO and the DOH for the donation.
The DOH’s decision to donate pieces of equipment to Bohol’s hospitals is aligned with the department’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program.
