The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Government Properties recommends that the purported heirs of former Gov. Celestino Gallares to present proof of ownership in order to realize the heirs’ bid to reacquire portions of the old Tagbilaran airport which the family supposedly donated.

Third District Board Member Greg Jala said the panel is giving the heirs the opportunity
to present documents or proof within six months proving ownership of the some lots at the old Tagbilaran airport.

The purported heirs have requested for the turnover of the lots previously used as the old T

agbilaran airport.
In the committee report, it was purported that the former Gov. Gallares’ donation of lot carried a condition that the donated area shall for the sole purpose of an airport.

Moreover, Jala said the Provincial Legal Office shall be the one to assess the documents to determine the legality and authenticity.
