The Bohol Light Company Inc. (BLCI) and Bohol Water Utilities Inc. (Bohol Water) launched, by way of a contract signing ceremony, their new radio program to air every day at station dyTR.
The contract for the new program was signed on Feb. 23, 2023 at the SKY 7 of KEW Hotel Tagbilaran.

The signatories in the contract are Paulino Almedilla, the general manager of BLCI, Marnellie Bautista, the general manager of Bohol Water, Evangeline Buma-at, general manager of dyTR, and Ardy Araneta-Batoy, managing editor of THE BOHOL TRIBUNE.
Based on the statement of purpose presented by Victor Tambis, the compliance officer of Bohol Water, he said that for more than 22 years in operation since taking over from the Provincial Public Utilities Department (PPUD), the companies were unable to focus solidly on media and public relations.
Tambis added that to address the need for better customer service and engagement through the media, the companies have decided to tap the services of dyTR and the media through Ardy Araneta Batoy of The Bohol Tribune.
The companies have then decided to expand their current media reach by launching a daily radio program from 11:30 am to 12 noon, everyday, from Monday to Friday..
Tambis said that the current media exposure of the companies is not enough to provide information to the public. Thus, the new program was born. He added that the companies are using the media to keep the public informed and at the same time improve customer satisfaction.
Tambis said that the program will focus on BLCI during Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. While the program shifts to tackle concerns about Bohol Water during Tuesdays and Thursdays.
“[It is] our commitment to provide quality service to the customers, and establish media mileage, build strong public confidence through information,” Tambis said.
In his speech, Almedillo said that he was delighted to be part of the contract signing between the companies and dyTR.
He looks forward to forging better partnership in the purview of effective customer service through media awareness. The new program provides an avenue for BLCI to reach out to Boholano consumers by providing them the right information in a timely manner.
Through the media campaign, BLCI tries to highlight its ability to provide reliable power supply, in turn improving the quality of life of the Boholanos, Almedillo added.
For her part, Bautista said she is grateful for the partnership among BLCI, Bohol Water and dyTR. The media campaign is part of the two (2) companies’ goal to provide excellent customer service.
“Through this media campaign, we will be more open and willing to share information for the benefit of our customers,” Bautista quipped.
The general manager of dyTR, Buma-at and the dyTR-AM station manager Ted Ayeng also spoke during the program.
Ayeng said the partnership of the 2 companies and dyTR is a welcome development. He hopes the issues involving BLCI and Bohol Water will be given more focus this time around and with the proper information dissemination.
Meanwhile, Buma-at in her speech expressed appreciation to BLCI and Bohol Water for the partnership that already spanned several years and now it has become stronger because of the new daily program to air starting March 1, 2023.
Ardy Araneta-Batoy of dyTR and The Bohol Tribune has been very instrumental in the realization of the project. During the contract signing, aside from having been one of the signatories, she also performed the role of Master of Ceremonies.
