Panglao, Bohol – A buy-bust operation conducted by the Panglao Municipal Police Station led to the arrest of one Matt Darnel Abuyabor y Gablines, also known as “Mat-mat,” and the confiscation of 7.1 million pesos worth of shabu.

The operation, led by Chief of Police PMAJ Andie Liquit Corpus, took place at Purok 7, Brgy. Tangnan, Panglao, Bohol on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at around 10:15 PM.

Confiscated during the operation were one medium pack and eight large packs of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, along with a genuine one thousand-peso bill and seventy-four pieces of one thousand boodle money used as buy-bust money.

Also seized were a Nokia keypad cellphone, an empty cartoon glass box, and a black backpack used as a container. The confiscated shabu weighed approximately 1050 grams and had a standard drug price of 7,140,000 pesos.

The operation was conducted within the authority of PDEA and in compliance with A.M. No. 21-06-08 Supreme Court: “Rules on the use of Body-worn cameras.”

The inventory of seized evidence was attended by Edgardo F. Arcay, Municipal Mayor of Panglao; Tangnan Barangay Officials; and representatives from Bohol media.

Panglao Police Chief PMAJ Andie Liquit Corpus stated that the successful operation was part of their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the area.
