The chief of hospital of Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) is silent about whether or not the latest Covid positive case registered in her hospital is locally transmitted.
In previous instances, Macuno was very strong in insisting that there is no local transmission in Bohol and she was so definite about the matter that she even said, “Kanang media man gud maoy magpasumpaki namo ni Dr. Bernadas.”
This is the story about her allegations that media people are the ones causing the “conflict” between her and Dr. Bernadas. Several weeks ago, two medical technologists from GCGMH went to Cebu and was tested for Covid infection. The two medical technologists tested positive but are now negative following a second testing.
At that time, Macuno was very vocal in insisting that Bohol had no Covid case that was transmitted locally.
Macuno, as she pushed her hypothesis that the two medical technologists acquired the infection in Cebu and not in Bohol, had a clash of opinion with her superior, Department of Health 7 regional director Jaime Bernadas.
Bernadas, in a radio interview, said that he believed that the two medical technologists, with high probability of Covid infection, acquired the infection in Bohol.
Bernadas’ position ran counter to Macuno’s belief.
When asked about the seeming difference between her opinion and that of Dr. Bernadas’, Macuno, however, said there was no conflict at all between her and Bernadas’ pronouncement and any difference between their statements is just something the media concocted.
But now that her hospital, the GCGMH, has already a record of a Covid positive patient (who died) who is neither an OFW Or an LSI, Macuno has remained mum about whether or not the infection was locally transmitted.
Some members of media are eagerly awaiting for Macuno’s statement as to where the Covid positive patient got the infection. Luzon? Visayas? Mindanao?
Your answer is as good as ours.
