Balilihan Mayor Pureza Chatto has called the complaint filed against her by Bohol Clean
Water Alliance (BCWA) as baseless and politically motivated.
In an official statement released on Thursday, Chatto said she has not yet received a
copy of the complaint from the Ombudsman, but it has already been circulated on social
media by BCWA representative Erastus Leopando and social media personality Willy
Ramasola.
Chatto said she is disappointed that Ramasola has chosen to release the document to
the public before it has been properly delivered by the Ombudsman to the respondent.
“I want to assure the people of Balilihan that I am fighting for water rights for our town. I
have always been transparent about my efforts to secure a reliable water supply for our
people, and I will continue to do so,” Chatto said.
Chatto claimed that both Leopando and Ramasola are known associates and allies of a
private water company which has left no stone unturned in forcing their business
interests no matter the consequences to the town of Balilihan.
“It is clear that Ramasola, likewise supported by our political opponents, is trying to
harass me and distract me from my work. However, I will not be intimidated by his
tactics. I am confident that I can overcome this harassment and continue to serve the
people of Balilihan,” Chatto said.
Chatto said she will not be deterred from continuing with the project of providing water
supply to Balilihan. She said she will fight the baseless accusations and prove her
innocence.
“Truth and justice will prevail,” Chatto said.
She thanked the people of Balilihan for their continued support and vowed to work hard
to ensure that their town has a reliable water supply.
