PREPARING FOR THE WORSE CASE SCENARIO. Local Government Unit of Calape is preparing its local frontliners and the general public should the unseen COVID-19 virus hits the municipality thru a simulation exercise (simex) of calibrated barangay lockdown and contact tracing last May 20, 2020. Provincial DRRM Officer, Dr. Anthony R. Damalerio with the officers of TaRSIER 117 personally witnessed the conduct of said simex. Dr. Manuel Relampagos, the Municipal Health Officer, also briefed the medical and security team of the areas to be locked down should one positive case arise in that barangay, as per the DOH and Epidemiology Bureau standards. Mayor Nelson Yu also gave instructions to the security group prior to the conduct of the lockdown. The third picture from the left shows the contact tracing done to a first-generation resident that made close contact with a “positive” case shown in the fourth picture which was already isolated at the municipal designated isolation facility.
