The Municipality of Jagna FB Post says: “On June 28, 2024, the Municipality of Jagna celebrated a significant event with the launching and inauguration of Ayala Avenue. The event was graced by prominent individuals from the Ayala Foundation Inc., including President Antonio Joselito G. Lambino II, Visayas Director Dino Abellanosa, Senior Manager of SROI Dr. Jesusa Rebete, and Dr. Maria Paz Espiritu, Director of the Center for Research at Holy Name University. The Ayala Foundation Incorporated (AFI) has profoundly impacted Jagna through various initiatives. AFI played a crucial role in reconstructing the town plaza, adding features such as pathways, public restrooms, plant boxes, a playground, and a statue of Captain Caseñas. During the town’s 375th foundation day, AFI donated figurines of Captain Caseñas, enhancing local heritage pride. The foundation has also supported local women entrepreneurs by assisting in product development and showcasing their goods at prominent venues. Following the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Odette in 2021, AFI provided rehabilitation materials and food packs to affected families. Additionally, AFI’s partnership with the municipality includes a study to assess the impact of their livelihood programs on local economic development. Naming the street ‘Ayala Avenue’ honors AFI’s legacy and contributions to local development and community resilience. The street between Jagna Insular Plaza and the Municipal building will now be known as Ayala Avenue. ‘The Ayala Avenue in Makati City is a sign of progress of the Government; here in Jagna, the Ayala Avenue that you have dedicated to us is a sign of progress for Jagna,’ remarked Antonio Joselito Lambino II during the inauguration ceremony. This achievement stands as a testament to the progress of Jagna under the leadership of Mayor Joseph A. Rañola (2nd from left) and is a source of pride for all Jagnaanons. The community celebrates this development, recognizing it as a significant step forward in the town’s ongoing journey towards growth and prosperity.” Contributed photo
