IBP-BOHOL TO HOST HOUSING AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT REGULATION AND HUMAN SETTLEMENT ADJUDICATION SUMMIT

IBP-Bohol Chapter, through its 26th Board of Officers and Directors, will launch Lex Athenaeum: IBP Bohol Corporate Lawyering and Trial Academy on 21 September 2024 at MetroCentre Hotel and Convention Center in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Lex Athenaeum Project is in line with the objective of the Bar to elevate the standard of the legal profession as well as to add value to the skills and competencies of lawyers for them to be able to serve their clientele better.

For the inaugural edition of Lex Athenaeum, IBP-Bohol Chapter will host an unprecedented Housing and Real Estate Development Regulation and Human Settlement Adjudication Summit to be familiarized with the creation of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) and Human Settlement Adjudication Commission (HSAC) by virtue of Republic Act No. 11201 dated 14 February 2019 and to learn more about DHSUD’s and HSAC’s mandates, functions and respective jurisdictions. The Summit also aims to orient lawyers and their clientele-real estate developers, executives and practitioners with relevant housing and real estate development rules and regulation as well as practice, pleading and rules before the HSAC for real estate conflicts. 

For the morning session, Engr. Mark Anthony L. Lindugan and Engr. Enrique Voltaire O. Dolotallas, Division Chief and Section Chief, respectively, of DHSUD Region VII’s Housing and Real Estate Development Regulation Division will discuss the topic “Mandate of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) and Relevant Law and Rules on Housing and Real Estate Development.” In the afternoon session, OIC-Regional Adjudicator of HSAC Region VII, Atty. Joe Vinson M. Empaces, will discuss the topic “Conflicts in Real Estate: Laws, Rules and Updates on Proceedings Before the Regional Adjudicator.” No less than the Executive Commissioner of HSAC, Atty. Melzar P. Galicia, will discuss the “Rules of Procedure and Proceedings on Appeal before the Commission.”
