Authorities seized approximately P13.7 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Dauis, Bohol, on Friday, according to police.

The operation, which took place at 1:18 a.m. in Purok 4, Barangay Dao, resulted in the arrest of Jessie Baginang, 26, a resident of Purok 4, Barangay La Paz, Cortes, Bohol.

Police recovered 2,020 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P13,736,000 from Baginang, who is believed to be a major supplier of illegal drugs in the province.

The evidence was turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Joemar Pomarejos, Baginang is a known drug personality who was previously arrested in Cortes on July 20, 2024, with 1.5 kilograms of suspected shabu.

The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7) commended the Bohol police for the successful operation, with Police Brigadier General Dionisio Bartolome vowing to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, targeting major suppliers.

In a separate operation, the Cebu Police Provincial Office arrested a high-value individual, Andy Bacalso Dibuayan, alias “Negro,” 35, in Talisay, Cebu, on Friday.

Dibuayan was found with 75 grams of suspected shabu worth P510,000 and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was under surveillance for two weeks after authorities received information about his alleged illegal activities.

Meanwhile, the Bohol police reported seizing over P1 million worth of shabu in a week, from Dec. 30, 2024, to Jan. 5, 2025, in 10 police operations that resulted in the arrest of 10 drug suspects.

The police also conducted anti-illegal gambling operations, confiscating P2,139 in alleged bet money and arresting 19 suspects, and seized two unlicensed firearms in separate operations.
