The LGU Danao FB post said: “The much-awaited KADIWA ng Pangulo was officially launched on January 31, 2025, at the Municipal Atrium in Danao, Bohol, marking a significant step toward economic empowerment for local farmers and fisherfolk. This government-led initiative provides a direct and sustainable platform for them to sell their fresh produce and goods, eliminating middlemen and ensuring fairer profits while offering consumers affordable, high-quality food products. Spearheaded by the Municipal Agriculture Office, under the leadership of Mr. Zosemilito A. Digal, the event featured a diverse and abundant selection of fresh vegetables, fruits, dry goods, and locally made delicacies. The overwhelming community support led to products selling out rapidly, prompting an earlier-than-expected conclusion – a clear testament to the project’s success and the strong demand for farm-to-table produce. In his keynote address, Mayor Jose G. Cepedoza (inset, upper left corner) underscored the importance of shopping locally and actively supporting small businesses. He highlighted how patronizing local farmers not only sustains livelihoods but also strengthens the local economy and promotes food security. Municipal officials, department heads, and employees were among those in attendance, showing their full support for the initiative. Given the event’s resounding success, KADIWA ng Pangulo is now set to become a monthly affair, ensuring that Danao, Bohol residents continue to enjoy consistent access to fresh, locally sourced products while fostering a thriving and self-sufficient agricultural sector.” Contributed photo
