Inabanga Mayor Juno Jumamoy denied allegations that the local government unit caused delays in releasing National Housing Authority’s P10,000 housing assistance in their municipality.
Jumamoy said the LGU was not invited to attend the NHA meeting, citing a letter from NHA Bohol Head Genesis Manalili that only summoned 27 barangay captains who reportedly had issues with their submissions.
The barangay captains claimed they were called to the Local Government Academy office at the Capitol by Jun Flores to submit lists of totally damaged houses from Typhoon Odette, saying the LGU failed to meet the submission deadline.
Jumamoy refuted this, stating there was no deadline.
The mayor questioned LGA Capitol’s involvement, saying that program implementation should only be between NHA and Inabanga LGU.
He referenced an NHA letter informing him of the P71,165,000 allocation for Inabanga under the Emergency Housing Assistance Program.
Addressing claims about missing submissions, Jumamoy said the LGU submitted complete lists of Odette victims to NHA on September 5, 2024.
However, Manalili’s letter indicated the 27 captains submitted their lists on October 21, 2024.
“This clearly shows they are lying,” Jumamoy said.
The mayor also criticized a recorded video from the opposition, saying it contained unverified claims using words like “maybe,” “as far as I know,” and “allegedly.”
BOHOL SOLON ATTENDS NHA AID DISTRIBUTION DURING CONGRESSIONAL RECESS
Congressman Edgar M. Chatto attended the National Housing Authority (NHA) emergency housing assistance distribution in Bohol’s first district, addressing questions about his participation in government activities.
The NHA event, scheduled last February 6-14, 2025, distributed P50.15 million in housing assistance to 5,344 families affected by Typhoon Odette across seven municipalities.
Officials explained Chatto’s attendance during the congressional recess, noting he was formally invited by NHA Regional Office VII.
The invitation letter, dated January 22, 2015, specifically requested his office’s presence at the distribution activities.
The Provincial Government is coordinating with NHA for the aid distribution, with Capitol representatives also attending based on formal invitations.
Questions were raised about attendance patterns at government aid distributions, with observers noting various officials’ and candidates’ presence at similar events by DSWD, DOLE, and AKAP.
