heroic role of saving the life of a foreign national who
fainted and accidentally fell face-first in Tagbilaran City,
In a viral Facebook post, which has garnered over 6 million views, 90,000 likes, and 6,000 shares, Tikloi – a Bohol Red Cross-trained first aider and lifeguard instructor—is seen immediately providing first aid to the patient. After raising the patient’s feet to help him regain consciousness, Tikloi guided the patient in performing proper breathing exercises while asking a bystander to assist with manual head stabilization.
Thanks to his swift action, the patient recovered even before the ambulance arrived for further medical evaluation. Many netizens also praised his calm and reassuring communication with the patient, as he continuously explained the first aid measures he was performing.
“As your Chairman, I am proud to see how his training as a first aider enabled him to help someone in need. Beyond his skills, his genuine malasakit shines through in the way he comforted and reassured the person experiencing a medical emergency. As I’ve said time and again, first aid is a skill everyone should learn, even though we hope never to need it. It equips us with the knowledge, ability, and confidence to help – and even save a life. Mabuhay ka, Tikloi!” Chairman Gordon stated.
Congratulations, too, to Emmanuel Pilayre, Administrator of PH Red Cross-Bohol Chapter. He received his appointment for the position on May 2, 2024 (10 months ago) and he is really making waves in his role as an administrator.
