Incumbent congresswoman Alexie Besas-Tutor has stood firm on her decision to support the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, saying it was done in the interest of the people of Bohol’s 3rd District.

Speaking at several political rallies she attended in recent weeks, Tutur defended her move, insisting that her signature on the controversial complaint was “for the greater good” and aligned with the will of her constituents.

“Tungod sa katawhan sa Tersero, ako gipirmahan ang maong impeachment complaint,” Tutor reportedly said, according to statements cited by her critics.

She stressed that her actions were based on her principles and her commitment to public service.

However, her defense has drawn sharp criticism from Congressman candidate Atty. Makdo Castañares, who blasted Tutor on social media, questioning both the legality of the impeachment complaint and the motives behind her support.

In a Facebook post, Castañares alleged that Tutor received P100 million in cash and P150 million worth of aid in exchange for her signature—an accusation Tutor has yet to publicly address.

“Wala niya hisgoti ang 100 Milyones Pesos cash ug 150 Milyones Pesos worth of ayuda nga ganti baylo sa maong pag-pirma,” Castañares wrote, branding Tutor’s act as a betrayal of her “kumare,” Vice President Sara Duterte.

Castañares also questioned the supposed benefits of the move, asking what good it would actually bring to the people of the district: “Unsa man kaha nga kaayuhan ang mahatag ni #120Kumare sa taga Tersero tungod sa iyang pagpirma?”

The issue has sparked heated discussions online, with Facebook pages hosting ongoing surveys to gauge public opinion on the matter.

As the campaign season intensifies, the impeachment issue has become a defining topic in Bohol’s 3rd District.
