The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Saturday condemned the spread of fake news on social media regarding an alleged drug bust in Tagbilaran City.

In a statement, the BPPO said no anti-drug operation took place on April 21, 2025, despite claims circulated on the Facebook page “Bohol Flash” allegedly created by Capitol-financed trolls that a large quantity of illegal drugs was seized that day around 2:00 pm.

Police also clarified there was no surveillance operation involving a supposed drug delivery to Buenavista, nor any investigation implicating a certain Elvira Centino Gaskill.

Authorities further denied allegations linking Bohol Board Member Mimi Boniel-Maglasang to illegal drug activities, stressing that neither she nor Gaskill appears on the BPPO’s drug watchlist.

The police urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid sharing unverified information online.

They also appealed for public cooperation in reporting activities that could harm the community.

BPPO spokesperson Lt. Col. Norman Nuñez said the police remain committed to addressing legitimate concerns and serving the public.

He called for unity in countering the spread of misinformation and protecting individuals from baseless accusations.
