Sikatuna Students Empowered with Life-Saving CPR Skills: The Sikatuna Rural Health Unit (RHU) recently conducted a successful Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Orientation for Senior High School students of Sikatuna National High School. The initiative, held on July 16, 2025, aimed to equip students with essential skills to respond to emergency situations. Through this collaborative effort between the Department of Health, Department of Education, Sikatuna Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), and Sikatuna RHU, students gained valuable knowledge to build a safer and more prepared community. Sikatuna Mayor Justiniana Ellorimo (inset photo, upper right corner) expressed pride in the initiative, which was made possible through the partnership of various stakeholders. The event was attended by enthusiastic students and teachers, led by School Principal Mr. Leonor Apale. Special thanks were extended to Provincial DRMMH manager Mr. Niel John L. Oclarit, who served as the trainer, and the Department of Education Division of Bohol Medical Unit for their contributions to the event’s success. The RHU emphasized the importance of CPR, reminding everyone that “Push hard, Push fast – your hands can save lives.”
