Bohol Light believes the development of Tagbilaran City is rooted in a more robust power supply, says spokesperson Sheryl Paga.

Paga mentioned this during her appearance at Newsmakers ug Uban Pa radio program on Jan. 28, 2026.

However, she said this comes with challenges such as relocation of electric posts located within roads, resulting in road widening efforts.

As a result, Bohol Light has a series of scheduled power interruptions each time there are relocation activities as well as stringing of lines.

This February 5, 2026, Bohol Light will remove posts placed within the road along the San Isidro-Corella road.

Meanwhile, on Jan. 31, 2026, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines had a scheduled power interruption affecting the entire city of Tagbilaran, lasting around 2 hours and a half.

The reason behind the power interruption was to facilitate the correction of a hotspot in the 69 kilovolt disconnect switch connector for the Tagbilaran-Corella feeder at the Corella substation.

Meanwhile, Bohol Light started an electrification program providing connections to informal settlers.

The beneficiaries are members of registered urban poor associations, and the program has benefitted 139 households, which are now enjoying their own electrical connections.
