Where Childhood Promises Become Forever

Some love stories are written in the stars. Others, like Zichri D. Reformina and Netche Marie P. Malaque’s, begin with borrowed crayons and shared laughter in an elementary classroom. What started as an innocent friendship blossomed into a love that would weather distance, time, and every tide.

On April 25, 2026, that childhood bond found its forever. The storied stone walls of Our Lady of the Assumption Shrine in Dauis, Bohol bore witness as two hearts, entwined for a decade, became one. At 1:00 p.m., before Rev. Fr. Felix Warli R. Salise Jr., vows were not just spoken. They were fulfilled. Each word echoed a promise first whispered on August 15, 2016, when courtship turned friendship into forever-in-the-making.

Zichri, a 31-year-old seafarer from Poblacion Weste, Catigbian, has sailed countless seas. Yet it was Netche Marie who became his true north. The eldest of four, he walked toward his love escorted by his beaming parents, Mr. Antonino Reformina and Mrs. Merlina Reformina.

His bride, Netche Marie, 32, carried herself with the quiet grace of a woman who had waited for this day with unwavering faith. A Licensed Professional Teacher and the youngest daughter of Mrs. Teodora Malaque and the late Mr. Nestor Malaque (+), she glided down the aisle she had envisioned since February 26, 2017, the day they became officially “ON.” Her eyes held the same sparkle from their romantic proposal on February 19, 2022, now magnified by the weight of “I do.”

The Immaculate Conception Chorale’s hymns filled the shrine like a benediction, while Ms. Grace Amora’s gentle commentary wove the sacred moments together. As man and wife, they stepped into the Bohol sun and slipped away in a vintage masterpiece from Bohol Vintage Cars. A cinematic exit for a love story ten years in the telling.

Celebration awaited at the Dagohoy Grand Hall of Bohol Tropics Resort, transformed into a floral wonderland by Milag’s Floral Design. Every bloom seemed to whisper their story. The night came alive with the glow of a LED Wall and the pulse of sound by Gerard Piezas of 3G LED Wall Lights & Sounds. Guests savored sweets from 10:31’s dessert station and clinked cups of Chatime milk tea, toasting a love that aged like fine wine.

The bride’s radiant look, crafted by JL Udtohan & Co., was immortalized by Vhince Chiu Photography and Manoy Works of Rafael Monje, who captured not just images, but emotions.

From Worthy Crafts’ delicate invitations to laughter at the Snap N’ Shoot photo booth, and safe journeys courtesy of Richneil Reformina & Co., every detail was a love letter – a declaration of a decade of patience, prayer, and promise.Orchestrating this dream was Ms. Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta of “SMILE”, Philippines, whose meticulous touch for event planning and event coordination made every moment seamless.

Adding to the success of the event was Gloria’s emceeing job amplified by her final statement to conclude the celebration. She said: “Some loves are fleeting. Theirs was forged in childhood, tested by time, and crowned at the altar.”
