Gov. Arthur Yap cites the importance of statistics in governance, especially in setting the budget and establishing the evaluation base for government programs.

He cited the importance of statistics in a meeting with personnel of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). The team from PSA-Bohol was led by chief statististical specialist Jessamyn Anne Alcazaren. The meeting took place on Wednesday, Sept.9, 2020 at the Capitol, a report trom Capitol media says.

The governor said that he appreciates the importance of the work being done by the PSA.

Moreover, Yap believes that it is important for government officials to know the gross domestic product (GDP) rate, population, and the demographics, the same report bares.

The governor shared that he constantly visits the barangays and he personally interviews the barangay folks.

It is important, according to the governor, to know who among the people are heavily impacted by the coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic, the report from Capitol media reveals.
