Gov. Arthur Yap lauded the services of the Provincial Emergency Management Administration (PEMA), and its ground commander Alfonso Damalerio II.

The governor thanked Damalerio for his efforts in steering the helm of the PEMA during a critical phase in the provincial response to the Covid-19.

Yap expressed his appreciation to the numerous accomplishments of the PEMA and its former ground commander, Damalerio.

This comes as the PEMA has been set aside and transitions to the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF) were done.

The PEMA carried out the various executive orders of the provincial government that ensured the safety of the people amid the threat of the virus, Yap said.

It was during the time of the PEMA that the Offshore Boholanos Coordinating Team was created that led in providing financial assistance to the stranded Boholanos.

Despite challenges, the PEMA led the efforts in ensuring the smooth arrival of repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) especially at the early stage of the repatriation process. (with reports from Primer)
