Gov. Arthur Yap is expected to give his statement on the reported two positive Covid cases just reported before sundown.
According to initial reports from Dr. Tomas Cesar Lopez, spokesman of the Capitol for Covid related matters, he confirmed that there are two patients, one admitted in a local private hospital and the other one who used to be admitted at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital.
He, however, said the reports he received remain sketchy at this time.
The two patients were admitted for Severe Acute Respiratory Infection and were subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
As of posting time, Lopez said that these two patients are not locally stranded individuals or overseas Filipino workers. Of this, there is a huge probability that these cases are locally transmitted.
Meantime, Tagbilaran mayor John Geesnell Yap has ordered the lockdown of purok 2 of barangay Dao after one of the residents has tested positive.
He said the contact tracing has started.
More reports to follow.
