Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II bared, a day after the release of the result of the RT – polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test of the 65-year old female Covid positive patient from Dao district, that contact tracing activities were immediately done which are continuing until now.

In a statement released on Friday, (June 5, 2020), the mayor said, “Padayon ang pag contact trace sa naka direct contact sa patient nga ni positive sa Covid 19. Ang 13 kabuok gabie, gi rapid tests ug nag negative ang result pero e PCR tests gihapon ni sila sugod karong adlawa (Friday, June 5). Mokabat ug 300 ka tawo (who had close contacts with the patient) atong e subject for PCR tests tungod kay ni kuha pa og SAP (Special Amelioration Program)ang patient pag May 16.”

In the same statement posted on Facebook, Yap said that, “Ang patient padong na unta ma discharge sa hospital tungod kay na ayo na, pero gi huwat lang ang result sa test. Padayon ang pag isolate sa patient sa hospital.”

Moreover, Yap’s statement added, “Padayon gihapon ang pag lockdown sa part sa Purok 2 sa barangay Dao, nga moabot og 106 houses. Tagaan ni sila og relief goods gikan sa City Government of Tagbilaran. Padayon ang pag isolate sa mga naka direct contact (with the patient) nga dili kauban nila (patient) og balay.”

In the statement it was further said,
“Nagsugod pud ta disinfect sa mga government offices nga naadtuan sa mga members sa family. Ganinang buntag ang (Bureau of Internal Revenue) BIR ug (Registry of Deeds) ROD. Mosunod ang (Barangay Affairs and Constituency Unit) BACU, (Local Civil Registry Office) LCRO, (and) Assessors’ office.”

According to Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, spokesperson of the Capitol for Covid matters, the patient will remain in isolation in the hospital for 14-days and was subjected to a repeat PCR.
