Manhunt still on against Mansasa shooting suspect

Tagbilaran City police chief Lt. Col. Mary Crystal Peralta says the manhunt operation against the Mansasa shooting suspect is still ongoing.

Peralta said that the police have expanded its search for the suspect to other towns. Another report received The Bohol Tribune says that as of posting time, the police are still determining the real motive behind the killing.

The suspect, a retiree from the Philippine Army, allegedly shot two (2) persons on Monday, June 8, 2020 and the shooting incident took place in barangay Mansasa, reports reaching The Bohol Tribune said.

The suspect, identified as Teodorico Linghon, 65, of barangay Mansasa immediately fled after the shooting incident, reports say.

According to Peralta, the police were unable to recover the weapon used in the shooting incident.

Reports also bared that that Lingjon, the suspect, allegedly shot Carolino “Carol” Pahang, a 64, barangay councilor, and his nephew Jose Lamberto “Jobert” Pahang, 38 and the incident took place in broad daylight on Monday, June 8, 2020.

The same source said that Peralta relayed to media that the police are still determining the motive behind the shooting. Finding out the motive is one of the subjects of the ongoing investigation related to the incident.

In a related report, it was learned that, allegedly, there was a conflict between the suspect and the Pahangs. There are allegations, too, that the suspect was engaged in digging operations that started in his property and allegedly intruded into the Pahangs’ property. The intrusion of the digging operations into the lot of the Pahangs is allegedly, one of the reasons for the dispute which resulted into the shooting incident.

Reports also have it that the lot of the suspect is just adjacent to the lot of the Pahangs.
