First District Cong. Edgar Chatto hands over assistance to members of the Bohol Persons with Disability Workers Association (BPDWA) as part of the assistance extended by the solons to people who are considered to be differently abled or known as Persons with Disability (PWD).
Reports said BPDWA head Junare Baculio, Tangnan l, Panglao Brgy. Captain Cirilo Gatase, Jr. with members of the Sangguniang Barangay of Tangnan and Panglao municipal administrator Alejandro Arbutante were present during short ceremonial distribution of assistance.
The assistance extended to the PWDs is under the program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), reports said.
Moreover, the DSWD was represented in the turnover rites by social work officers Flen Maquindang and Gemma Umpad, according to reports.
The distribution of assistance was held at the Resettlement Center in Tangnan, Panglao.
It can be recalled that the resettlement project is an undertaking of Habitat for Humanity with the help of Chatto.
Reports said the community was given a concrete road, livelihood training center, water reservoir and electric connection.
The same reports said PWDs were trained to manufacture assistive devices and other livelihood skills.
Furthermore, the reports added that members of BPDWA are mostly working in their massage clinics.
Some members of the PWD group are found at the airport and seaport working as entertainers, reports said.
Unfortunately, these PWDs are all displaced from their livelihood due to Covid-19 pandemic.
