Gov. Arthur Yap confirms the news of a new Covid case involving a locally stranded individual (LSI).

The governor said that he was informed about the new active Covid case in Bohol by a representative of the Department of Health (DoH) this evening, June 16, 2020.

The govermor said in a statement that the LSI arrived from Cebu last June 6, 2020.

“Maski wala siya’y gibati nga simtomas, nagpabilin siya nga naka-isolate pagka-karon. Nagsugod na pud ang contact tracing,” the governor said in his statement posted on Facebook.

According to City Health Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc, the LSI is a 30-year-old male from Lindaville Subdivision.

The governor allayed the fears of the public regarding the new Covid case saying that even with the new cases the majority of the LSIs and the overseas Filipino workers who arrived here are free from Covid infection.

There are 1,613 LSIs and OFWs who are already home with their respective families, the governor mentioned.

Moreover, 2,573 LSIs and OFWs are being closely monitored in different quarantine facilities, the governor said in his statement.
