The provincial capitol is relaying the information now that nine (9) locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from five (5) different towns In Bohol tested positive for Covid infection via the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Kevin Damalerio, Capitol’s information cluster chief, provided The Bohol Tribune this information about the new Covid infection just now, June 20, 2020.

According to the information from the Capitol and based on the report by the Department of Health (DoH) in Central Visayas, the breakdown of the Covid positive SLIs is:
• two (2) LSIs are from Candijay,
• two (2) from Talibon,
• two (2) from Tubigon,
• two (2) from Loon,
• one (1) from Inabanga.

The capitol information chief said that contact tracing activities have been initiated for these new cases. The same information chief said that the mayors concerned have been informed about the new cases.

In a telephone interview, Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez told The Bohol Tribune that all LSIs who tested positive originated from Cebu. Lopez added that these LSIs were subjected to the PCR test after showing mild symptoms including low-grade fever.

In another development, Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap in a Facebook post yesterday said that the two (2) medical workers in a private hospital including their close contacts have tested negative in the repeat PCR test.

On the other hand, one (1) LSI that was reported to have tested positive for Covid infection, has tested positive anew in the repeat PCR test, Information from the Capitol revealed.

The LSI from Tagbilaran remains in the isolation facility of Tagbilaran City, the same information from the Capitol said.

With the new positive cases and recoveries, the total number of active cases in Bohol is 17 cases, based on the tracking of The Bohol Tribune.

As of late yesterday afternoon, other active Covid cases in Bohol include the following: three (3) cases in Tagbilaran, two (2) cases in Sagbayan, one (1) case in Candijay, one (1) case in San Isidro and one (1) case in Balilihan.
