Barangays Bool and Mansasa are blessed as they are the recipients of some projects from the “Baba Yap Agri-Vet Program” launched last week.
Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap is shown in the photo 2nd from right as he leads in the distribution of the Agri-Vet items with Dr. Genette Egos, and Punong Barangay Bernadette Blanco. A package received by the first batch of recipients includes seedlings, seaweeds and live chickens. Mayor Yap, who is stressing the importance of this initiative during this pandemic, has this to say: “This will help in the sustenance of the day-to-day needs of our constituents. Aside from providing a fresh supply of produce, it will also give them an opportunity to earn an extra income”.
The program includes the Balik-Bakuran Program, promoting backyard gardening; the Yamang-Dagat Alagaan Program advocating the preservation and protection of our marine resources; the BABAhagiang Karne Program which is all about livestock and poultry; and the Yakap Aking Alaga Program which encourages Tagbilaranons to be responsible pet owners.
Since this is a continuing program, another set of beneficiaries will receive the livelihood package and the distribution will take place soon for barangays Poblacion 1 and III. The office of the City Agrivet will regularly monitor the progress of the beneficiaries. (Contributed photo)
