Calape Mayor Nelson Yu reports that the close contacts of the town’s 2nd coronavirus disease (Covid) fatality are negative for the disease per polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results.

The test results were released on Sunday, July 26, 2020, according to the Calape mayor in a Facebook post also on Sunday.

Yu said all 40 close contacts of the 2nd Calape Covid fatality, who was from barangay Looc, Pangagangan Island, and died at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) on July 15, 2020.

The mayor gave caution to his constituents that despite the good news, the townspeople should continue to obey minimum health standards and health protocols to help prevent the spread of the virus causing Covid.

He urged the people to seek medical attention as soon as they show signs and symptoms such as cough, colds, fever and other Covid-related symptoms.

He reminded the people to stay at home if there are no important errands to make and to follow social distancing rules while wearing face mask when in public.
