The two (2) locally stranded individuals (LSI) from Tagbilaran who are coronavirus disease (Covid)-positive are passengers of the same sweeper flight that brought them from Manila back to our province on August 5, 2020.

Based on the information from Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II, the 2 LSIs boarded the same Air Asia sweeper flight that arrived here in Bohol, on August 5, 2020, at around 2 pm.

He revealed the information in an update on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, and the update appeared on the mayor’s certified Facebook page.

One of the infected LSIs is a 56-year-old male from barangay Tiptip, while the other is a 66-year-old female from barangay Dao and both originatd from Manila, the Mayor said.

The mayor added that aside from the 2, another overseas Filipino worker (OFW) tested positive for Covid. In the same report, the Tagbilaran OFW who tested positive for Covid is a 45-year-old, male, from barangay Cogon who arrived here from Manila on August 4, 2020 via a Philippine Airline sweeper flight.

All of the new Covid cases in Tagbilaran are now placed in isolation in the city’s isolation facility, the mayor added.

He said that all OFWs, LSIs, and authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) are tested for Covid infection by the city using PCR for free to ensure that everyone who leaves the quarantine facility are well and will not spread the virus to the community.
