A new quarantine protocol is expected soon as the medical cluster of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF) and the representatives from the Bohol Medical Society (BMS) and the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) are set to meet anytime this week to craft a new quarantine protocol for arriving overseas Filipino workers (OFW). locally stranded individuals (LSI), and authorized person outside residence (AFOR).
The meeting will set the new protocol for the quarantine of OFW, LSI and APOR from 14 days to 5 days. They will craft a written protocol for the implementation of the new protocol following the initial compromise reached among B-IATF, BMS and PCP.
According to Gov. Arthur Yap, while the new protocol is being crafted, the 5-day protocol for the arriving OFW, LSI, and APOR earlier implemented stays for now.
The current procotol says that any person under quarantine may cur short his/her stay from 14 days to 5 days, if a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test is taken on the fifth day and will be able to produce a negative result, the governor said in a press conference last Friday, August 14, 2020.
The new protocol became controversial after the BMS and PCP came up with a statement denying the pronouncement of the B-IATF spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez that the two (2) groups of doctors agreed with the medical cluster of the B-IATF in imposing the 5-day quarantine protocol.
