Talibon records one (1) coronavirus disease, considered as a community transmission, according to Gov. Arthur Yap in a statement. He released his statement on Monday, August 17, 2020.

Yap said that he received information about the new positive case from the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) sub-national laboratory.

The patient had no travel history and not an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) nor a locally stranded individual (LSI).

Moreover, Yap said the patient was admitted at the Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital last August 12, 2020. The patient died on August 16, 2020 due to respiratory attack secondary to cardiac arrest, diabetes mellitus type 2.

As this developed, the official Facebook page of the Municipality of Talibon reports that Talibon mayor Janette Garcia placed the entire Guindacpan Island under lockdown. The patient used to reside in the said island.

Furthermore, the local government unit of Talibon has sent relief goods to the residents of the said island, according to the report appearing in the official Facebook page of the said town.
