Gov. Arthur Yap reports that the province records 19 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid) today, Wednesday, August 26, 2020. The governor revealed the report on new cases after the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center sub-national laboratory released its report.

About 10 cases are from Talibon, where eight (8) are from Guindacpan Island, one (1) case is from San Jose, and one (1) case is from Calituban Island.

The Covid positive patients from Talibon are products of contact tracing activities.

Currently, Guindacpan island is under lockdown, while the patient from San Jose and the one from Calituban Island have been isolated following the positive test.

Moreover, the following have also tested positive for covid: four (4) locally stranded individuals (LSI), two (2) Danao LSI, one (1) LSI from Ubay, one (1) LSI from Tubigon, and one (1) LSI from Batuan.

The Covid positive patients in the said towns are already in isolation as contact tracing activitiee are being conducted by the respective Rural Health Unit with help coming from the Provincial Health Office.
