The biggest number of Covid Cases within a day is recorded in Bohol.
The record, released yesterday, was announced at the office of the governor Tuesday night, August 25, 2020.
Indeed, Bohol records the largest number of coronavirus disease (Covid) cases in 1 day with 23 cases reported.
About 15 out of the 23 cases are from Talibon town. Around 13 cases are from Guindacpan Island, one (1) case is from barangay San Jose, and one ()) case is from barangay San Roque.
Five (5) out of the 23 new cases are from Bien Unido, the governor said. Around four (4) cases are from Malingin Island and one (1) case is a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Nueva Estrella, Bien Unido.
Moreover, another three (3) cases are from barangay Putingbato in Buenavista town.
The governor said that apart from the LSI from Bien Unido, 22 of the 23 new Covid patients don’t have any travel history and considered as community transmissions. They are also products of contact tracing.
Furthermore, out of the 304 swab samples taken during the contact tracing activities, 22 swab samples tested positive for Covid.
Currently, the lockdown on Malingin and Guindacpan Islands remain in effect.
All of those who tested positive for Covid have been isolated.
The LSI from Bien Unido is presently admitted at the Gov.. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).
With the new cases, the total active Covid cases in Bohol is now at 53.
