The Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF) is now focusing on the rising number of coronavirus disease (Covid) cases in the town of Tubigon, with six (6) active community transmission cases as of Sept. 8, 2020.

In a virtual presser on Sept. 8, 2020, B-IATF spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez said that the focus is now on Tubigon town aside from the two islands of Malingin in Bien Unido and Guindacpan in Talibon.

The two (2) islands recently were touted to be Covid hotspots after a surge of the number of infected patients there.

The 6 Covid patients in Tubigon have no travel history. They are not also locally stranded individuals (LSI) nor overseas Filipino workers (OFW), Lopez bared in the same virtual presser.

Moreover, Lopez praised the efforts of the local government unit (LGU) of Tubigon in strictly implementing the protocols to contain the Covid problem.

The 6 Covid patients from Tubigon are now in isolation. At the same time, the LGU, led by Mayor William Jao, strictly implements the home quarantine passes, in order to control the movement of people in the said town.

Personnel from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and from the Department of Health (DOH) are in town to help in contact tracing activities being conducted by the town’s local contact tracing team.

Meanwhile, as of Sept. 8, 2020, there are 49 active Covid cases in Bohol, Lopez reported in the same virtual presser.
