Bohol will be hosting this year’s edition of the Philippine Tourism Exchange (PhiTEx) from Sept. 19 to 28, 2020, according to Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto.
She made the revelation about the travel exchange that will be held here on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 during the weekly press conference at the Capitol.
In her presentation, she said that the actual event will start officially on Sept. 22, 2020 and will end on the 25th.
Around 70 participants are coming over for the PhiTEx, which will be composed of sellers and personnel from the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB).
However, there will be some participants in the event that will be joining virtually, the provincial administrator said.
Those who will physically attend the PhiTEx will arrive on Sept. 19, 2020, as the opening ceremojies will be held on the 23rd.
The PhiTEx will drop its curtains on Sept. 25, 2020.
After the event concludes, there will be tours involving the participants who are here in the province. The tours will be on Sept. 25 to 27, 2020.
The 70 participants will depart from Bohol on Sept. 28, 2020, Pioquinto revealed.
Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat is expected to arrive with some of her undersecretaries on the 25th and are expected to stay in Bohol until Sept. 27, 2020, Pioquinto said.
Moreover, in line with the hosting of the PhiTEx,the medical cluster of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF) has crafted health and safety protocols that will be used in the duration of the event, Pioquinto bared.
All delegates who will be arriving in Bohol for the event, shall undergo a five-day quarantine period prior to the testing for Covid infection through the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
