The number of active cases of Coronavirus disease (Covid) in Bohol drops to 38 from a high level of 164 at the start of the month.

This was the revelation of Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, the spokesperson of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) during the regular virtual presser on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020.

Out of the 38 active cases, 15 cases are considered to be local transmission and the remainder involves the already isolated overseas Filipino workers (OFW), locally stranded individuals (LSI), and authorized persons outside residence. (APOR).

Lopez said the unity of the local government units (LGU), the BIATF, and other stakeholders is the key that helped bring down the number of Covid cases following a huge increase in numbers seen at the start of this month.

Meanwhile, Lopez reported that there are only 12 members of the Philippine Army who remain infected with Covid. Early this month, there were 65 personnel of the Army who contracted the virus as they were about to undergo training at the Camp Lino Chatto in barangay Macaas, Tubigon.

According to Capitol data, Bohol has recorded a total of 596 Covid cases since the start of the pandemic.

The same data say that there are about 12 persons who succumbed to the disease here in the province.
