Bohol lands as Visayas’ 6th richest province

Bohol lands as the sixth (6th) richest province in the visayas, maintaining its position for four straight years.

Bohol has registered total assets amounting to P9.72billion based on the 2019 Annual Financial Report prepared by the Commission on Audit (COA) and submitted to President Duterte in December, 2020.

According to reports, the amount is 18.8 % higher compared to that of 2018 pegged at P8.1billion.

Based on the same set of data from COA, Bohol ranks the 24th richest province in the country out of 81 provinces.

Moreover, Cebu is the richest province in the Visayas and in the country with total assets of P203.9billion.

The top 10 richest provinces in the Visayas are: Cebu, P203.9 billion;  Negros Occidental, P15.9 billion;  Leyte, P13.5 billion;  Iloilo, P13.034 billion;  Negros Oriental, P10.4 billion;  Bohol, P9.72 billion;  Aklan, P7.8 billion,  Antique, P7.14 billion;  Northern Samar, P6.5 billion;  and Samar, P6.3 billion.

There are 16 provinces in the Visayas, located in three regions: Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, the top 10 richest provinces in the Philippines are: Cebu, P203.9 billion;   Batangas, P20.7 billion;  Rizal, 20.28 billion;  Davao de Oro, P20.1 billion; Bukidnon, P18.29 billion;  Surigao del Norte, P16.68 billion;  Negros Occidental, P15.90 billion;  Leyte P13.54 billion;  Palawan,  P13.04 billion; and  Iloilo, P13.03 billion.
