The Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) led by its medical center chief, Dr. Mutya Kismet Macuno takes the first step in the realization of the state-of-the-art medical facility based in Malayo Norte and Malayo Sur in Cortes town with a groundbreaking ceremony 

The groundbreaking ceremony that transpired on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 had Macuno saying, in her speech, that the future state-of-the-art medical facility will surely benefit the people of Bohol.

For her part, Health USec. Leonita Gorgolon said the GCGMH project is the “largest” contract entered into by the Department of Health (DOH) in terms of building a state-of-the-art healthcare facility.

“So it is a great challenge for all of us, the stakeholders, our provincial leaders, the project management team, which I met yesterday [Thursday] and to Dr. Mutya for delivering this project,” Gorgolon said in her speech.

In his speech, DOH Central Visayas regional director Jaime Bernadas said that once the GCGMH complex is completed, Bohol will be the envy of neighboring provinces in the region.

He congratulated the Boholanos for the milestone in the development of the healthcare system in the region.

The phase 1 is expected to be completed in 18 months with a budget of P1.5billion.
