Department of Health-7(DOH-7) bared that it may start vaccinating senior citizens and persons with co-morbidities by mid-April of 2021.

In a report, the DOH 7 said that the region’s vaccination drive may proceed to the second level in the l priority list in mid-April following more than half of the health workers in Central Visayas already vaccinated.
Data shows that as of March 29, 2021, the DOH 7 recorded a 51 percent success rate in the vaccination of healthcare workers who are in the top tier of the vaccination priority list.

“We are positive we can finish vaccinating all our medical frontline health workers… so that we can start with subgroup A2 and that would be our senior citizens together with persons with co-morbidities,” DOH 7 spokesperson Dr. Mary Jean Loreche said.
DOH 7 has already listed 771,468 senior citizens who are eligible to receive the vaccine.
The DOH 7 added that Cebu has around 463,478 eligible senior citizens, followed by Bohol with 148,855, Negros Oriental with 140,058 and Siquijor with 13,077.
Senior citizens are considered to be at A2 level of the Philippine National Deployment and Vaccination Plan for COVID-19 vaccines, reports bare.
