Mylix Licayan, the vice president for operations of SM Group, visited the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) on Tuesday morning, Sept. 19, as part of the company’s initial stages of coordination for the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony of the SM Mall scheduled next month.

Licayan met with PDRRMO chief Anthony Damalerio, and discussed the plans and preparations for the construction of the mall, which will be located beside Bohol’s Command Center in Tagbilaran City.

The mall is expected to generate more jobs and boost the local economy of the province.

Damalerio welcomed Licayan and expressed his appreciation for SM Group’s investment in Bohol.

He said that the PDRRMO will provide the necessary support and assistance to ensure the safety and security of the project.

Licayan said that SM Group is committed to building a world-class mall that will cater to the needs and preferences of the Boholanos.

He said that the mall will feature a variety of shops, restaurants, entertainment facilities, and services that will enhance the quality of life of the residents and visitors of Bohol.

He also said that SM Group is mindful of the environmental and social impacts of its project and will adhere to the highest standards of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

He said that SM Group will work closely with the local government and stakeholders to ensure that the mall will be a positive addition to the community.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the SM Mall is slated for October 15, 2023. The mall is expected to be completed by 2025.
