Most Boholano netizens are in favor of putting Bohol under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) following a steep surge in the number of  Coronavirus disease (Covid) cases in the past few days, according to an informal random survey conducted by The Bohol Tribune’s managing editor.

Boholano netizens responded to a survey question posted by The Bohol Tribune’s on Thursday, Apr. 22, 2021, asking Boholanos whether or not they favor the re-imposition of the ECQ here even for a short period of time..

Batoy posted this question in her timeline: “Survey ta: Uyon ka ba ug ibalik ang ECQ sa Bohol, bisan usa ka semana lang, aron lang makunhuran ang mga kaso sa covid positive?”

For the result of the random survey, read the Vox Populi column published on page 13 of this newspaper.

Currently, Bohol is under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), which is the most lenient form of community quarantine.

As of press time last night, Apr. 24, 2021, the post regarding the random survey on Batoy’s timeline already reached 190 reactions and 124 comments, majority of which favor the re-imposition of ECQ.

However, one netizen, Vjoy Concha, expressed opposition for the re-imposition of ECQ, “Ako dili ma’am. Mosamot ang gutom sa mga mawad an ug trabaho on that span of ecq labi na tong gasalig ra jod sa daily wage unya wa gyuy natigom. . My opinion only. Di ko makiglalis sa uban. Peace. Salamat.”

The idea of placing Bohol in ECQ surfaced after a sharp rise in the number of Covid cases in Bohol.

Based on the report of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) as of yesterday, at 8 am, Bohol recorded a total of 594 total active Covid cases which already include 41 new active Covid cases.
