A PAGE UNFOLDS

Another page in history for Bohol is now carved and molded in stone via the Quincentennial Marker elegantly standing within the vicinity of the Punta Cruz watchtower in Maribojoc town. The marker is a reminder to generations of Boholanos that this province played a major role in the first circumnavigation of the world that inevitably paved the way for Catholicism in the Philippines – 500 years ago. (See related story on page 2). Looking at the marker are Gov. Arthur Yap (left), Cong. Edgar Chatto (middle) and National Museum’s Director General Jeremy Barnes (right) who are also proudly and deligently reading the inscription that tells about Bohol, the part it played in the world circumnaviation and our Catholic faith.
