The provincial government of Bohol (PGBh) launched on Friday, June 18, 2021, the Provincial Milk Feeding Program in Dauis town, according to a report of the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) office released on Monday, June 21, 2021.

According to Gov. Arthur Yap, the milk program addresses the malnutrition problem prevailing among young children. It is critical to address the nutrition needs of children in the first 1,000 days of their lives.

The milk feeding program is seen as a way to improve not just children’s nutrition but also their immune system so they can be resistant to various infectious diseases, the governor added.

Aside from helping children with their nutritional needs, the milk feeding program is a way to help dairy farmers in the province, the governor explained.

Meanwhile, the governor also turned over the financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the Bohol Educational Subsidy program.

The PRIMER report said that each beneficiary received P3,500 as assistance coming from the PGBh.

The report said aside from the governor other personalities who attended the benefit distribution were Dauis mayor Marietta Sumaylo, Baclayon mayor Benecio Uy, Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos, Board Members Ricky Masamayor and Alder Damalerio, among others.
