Lila records 1st Covid death

Lila town recorded its first Coronavirus disease (Covid)-related death, according to town mayor Arturo Jed Piollo in a post on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Piollo said that he was informed that the fatality was admitted in a hospital in Carmen town and expired there.

He added that the patient who is a senior citizen and had diabetes, was from barangay Taud.

Moreover, the mayor added that 4 out of the 21 active cases in town are classified as severe cases and now admitted in healthcare facilities.

As this developed, Piollo urged the people of the town to follow the health and safety protocol as many of his townmates have been observed not following the proper wearing of face mask and social distancing.

He reiterated that the local government unit has been doing its best to remind the people to follow the protocol, which is in place for the safety and protection of the people.

According to the report of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) there are 72 persons in Bohol who died since the pandemic started.

The same report shows that there are 1,400 total active cases in the province with majority of the cases located in Tagbilaran City with 339 active cases.
