The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol, headed by Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos, approved on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, an appropriation ordinance in the amount of P24,700,840 to fund various programs and project initiatives of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), a report from the SP says.

These projects that will be funded by the said appropriation ordinance are included in the recently approved Supplemental Investment Program of the PGBh as endorsed by the Provincial Development Council Executive Committee (PDC-EXECOM).

The said supplemental budget will fund training for Agri-Fishery Resiliency Technician, procurement of farm equipment to promote agri-productivity, procurement of transport vehicle for cadavers among others.

According to Dr. Larry Pamugas from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, the purpose of training agri-fishery technicians is that their office needs additional assistance in the barangay level to help in the implementation of agriculture and fishery programs of the PGBh.

Pamugas said that there are times that the PGBh’s projects are not supported by the municipality because of budgetary constraints.

Moreover, Pamugas clarified that the individuals to be trained are not regular employees of the PGBh and they will only be trained with the basic technical skills and equipped with basic equipment.

He added that the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist is targeting to train at least one individual per barangay.
