Gov. Arthur Yap’s chief of staff warns the public about a Facebook account posing to be owned by the governor and sending friend requests, and saying that this is not the social media account of Bohol’s chief executive.

Giselle Quimpo, the governor’s chief of staff, posted on Facebook on Monday, July 20, 2021, a warning to the public about the possible Facebook scam, after she received a friend request from the said bogus account.

“I have received a friend request from this account with name “Art Yap”, Quimpo said in a post.

She added: “Please be informed [that] this is not an account of Gov. Art Yap.”

Quimpo revealed the said bogus account has been sending friend requests to various people. She added that these people already called the attention of personalities who are working closely with the governor asking whether or not if the account is indeed owned by Bohol’s chief executive.

Back in November 2020, Yap warned the public about a scam where the perpetrators were using his name.

The perpetrators allegedly called some restaurants and business establishments and placed bogus orders and asked favors in the name of the governor.
