Valencia town‘s barangays received financial aid from the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) on Aug. 13, 2021, according to a Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) office report.

Gov. Arthur Yap distributed P25,000 each to the 35 barangays of Valencia town in ceremonies held at the Ceremonial Hall in the New Capitol Building.

The financial aid distributed by the governor is the annual financial aid given by the PGBh to the various barangays in the province.

Yap, in his speech, gave an update about the Coronavirus disease (Covid) situation in the province.

The governor emphasized the barangays’ role in bringing the number of active cases down by shunning the practice of home quarantine, which has been tagged as one of the possible reasons of the surge in Covid cases in the province.

The governor also challenged the barangay leaders in attendance to urge the senior citizens and persons with comorbidities to get vaccinated at the soonest possible time.

Yap was with Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos, Board Member Elpidio Bonita, San Miguel mayor Virgilio Mendez, Valencia mayor Ma. Katrina Lim and Liga ng mga Barangay Valencia chapter president Jorge Buslon.
