PGBh will reimburse P1,000 of RT-PCR cost once a year for returning Boholanos

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) will reimburse P1,000 of the cost of the real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test of returning Boholanos, once a year, according to an information from the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER).

This means that returning Boholanos who are required to get tested via RT-PCR 72 hours prior to arrival in Bohol will get back P1,000 of their expense.

The returning Boholano who wants to avail himself/herself of the reimbursement needs to submit the official receipt of the RT-PCR test taken from any Department of Health-accredited testing facility, travel ticket, valid ID, and proof of residency in Bohol.

The funds for the reimbursement of RT-PCR cost will be coming from the budget of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), according to the memorandum issued by Gov. Arthur Yap dated Aug. 9, 2021.

Meanwhile, Yap revealed during the virtual press conference on Aug. 20, 2021 that the PGBh inked a deal with a private laboratory based in the National Capital Region with branches in other places in the country for a discounted RT-PCR rate.

New World Diagnostics testing center offers a discounted rate of P1,800 for an RT-PCR test for returning Boholanos.

The said testing center has branches in Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Las Piñas, Pasig, Malabon, Bulacan and in Davao City.

Thus, using the special rate and the P1,000 reimbursement from the PGBh, a returning Boholano will only have an out-of-pocket expense of P800 for the RT-PCR cost.
